Changes to Registered/Named GP
There have been a number of changes to the GP team here at Ashley Centre Surgery. Dr Joanna Sutherby has left the practice, and both Dr Ivan Ratnayake and Dr Caroline Craik are reducing the number of sessions that they work.
At the same time we are delighted to be welcoming two new GPs, Dr Neena Pankhania and Dr Gary Heron, to the practice.
What this means for patients:
- New Named GP: Some patients will be allocated a new named GP who will be responsible for the administrative oversight of their care. This ensures that all patients continue to receive coordinated and comprehensive healthcare.
- Continuity of Care: Please rest assured that this change will not affect the quality of care you receive. Your new named GP will have full access to your medical records and will work closely with our team to ensure continuity of care.
- Appointment Flexibility: While your named GP is responsible for the administrative oversight of your care, you are still welcome to request appointments with any clinician within our practice. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences and ensure you receive the care you need.
Why patient list sizes matter?
It is important that our GPs have an equitable list size to ensure:
- Balanced Workload: To ensure that all our doctors can provide the best possible care, we need to maintain equitable list sizes relative to the time each doctor works. This means that the number of patients assigned to each GP is balanced according to their working hours, ensuring that no doctor is overburdened.
- Quality of Care: By keeping list sizes equitable, we can ensure that each GP has sufficient time to dedicate to their patients, allowing for thorough consultations and continuity of care. This balance helps us maintain high standards of care across the practice.
- Operational Efficiency: Equitable list sizes also contribute to the smooth operation of the practice, enabling us to manage appointments and resources effectively.
While your named GP is responsible for the administrative oversight of your care, you are still welcome to request appointments with any clinician within our practice. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences and ensure you receive the care you need.
If your named GP is changing, you will receive a separate communication confirming the details.
